Crystalflame

Feathered blue dragon with ivory horns, gold eyes, and magenta and teal wings perched on a cliff, Digital art drawing by Katie Van Munster.

Crystalflame came to me during a past life regression. I saw her life living peacefully with her mate on the cliffs of a beautiful tropical forest. Unfortunately her story ends sadly, because after she laid their first clutch of eggs, her mate disappeared or died, and she struggled emotionally to raise the clutch by herself.

She's a feathered dragon, blue from nose to tail, with pale white-blue plumage along her throat and chest and a mane of deeper indigo feathers running down her neck. Twin ivory horns stick out the back of her head, and a pale blaze marks her face that looks like a combination of a crystal and a flame - which led to the name I gave her. Her wings are a display of color — soft teal near the leading edge fading into vivid magenta-purple at the tips. She loves spending time on high cliffs where she can look out over the tropical forests and rivers below and easily launch into the air to float on the warm updrafts.

Crystalflame is one of my first past life memories, and a significant one in my exploration of otherkin and connection with dragons. This piece is also one of my first drawings I made when switching from paper and pencils to digital art on a tablet.

This piece is available as a digital download and as physical prints.
